As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will be required to work in the schools'' Alternative Provision with students who are at risk of exclusion, and students looking to go through the EHCP process. The Alternative Provision which is set on the school site caters for up to 10 pupils, 5 to each class. The classrooms follow a nurture model. They have separate booths for pupil to work from, as well as desk and sofas which creative a calm, inviting environment. The purpose for 50% of pupils is to transition them back into the main classroom full-time, whereas the other 50% will go through the ECHP process, where you will be required to support in documenting evidence and putting together education plans for the pupils which will include online learning.
