Pay: -95 - -110 per day
Hours: Monday - Friday (8:30am - 4:00pm)

About the Role

Long Term Futures are seeking a Pastoral Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in the NG5 area of Nottingham. The school are looking for a supportive, approachable and resilient individual to work closely with the pastoral lead in creating a safe and positive learning environment.

This role would suit someone with a background in pastoral, behaviour or wellbeing support, or an experienced Teaching Assistant who wants to make a real difference for students facing barriers to learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Pastoral Manager to improve behaviour, attendance and engagement
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with special educational needs (SEN)
• Respond to pastoral concerns and support the school''s on-call system when required
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage positive behaviours
• Complete risk assessments and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed
• Support the monitoring and review of student progress and wellbeing plans

Person Specification

• Previous experience in an education setting is essential
• Confidence in supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A calm, consistent and supportive approach
• An Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply) and two professional references are required
