Part Time TIG Welder

We are an international engineering company with our UK Operations based at our Head Office and manufacturing site in Frimley, and we are now seeking an experienced Part Time TIG Welder. The role would suit candidates with more than 2 years'' TIG welding experience, working on small, detailed projects in stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium, who have the ability to read assembly drawings and method sheets. We can offer a salary of up to £39k FTE, together with flexible working hours during weekdays, 25 days'' holiday (pro rata for part time), free onsite parking, dental and medical insurance and a contributory pension scheme.

We specialise in the design and manufacture of quality instrumentation, working from our newly refurbished Head Office and manufacturing site which houses all of our head office, production and logistics operations.

You will be responsible for completing intricate welding and light assembly work on a range of small to medium-sized industrial instrumentation. You will work with a variety of materials and joining processes and will need to work accurately and to a high standard, while meeting production output targets to ensure on-time delivery to the customer.

As the Part-Time TIG Welder you will be able to work from your own initiative as well as part of a team. You should have a flexible attitude to work and be willing to learn a wide range of products and processes to allow flexibility in capacity across the site.

The main duties of the role will be as follows:

• Completion of intricate TIG welding projects using stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium
• Welding and light assembly of small to medium-sized industrial instrumentation
• Working from assembly drawings, method sheets and work instructions
• Carrying out joining processes including TIG, Micro Plasma and brazing
• Working with a wide range of materials including nickel and ferrous alloys, steels and aluminium
• Using lathes and milling machines within the machine shop
• Supporting other shopfloor activities during periods of low productivity
• Ensuring work is completed to the required quality and production standards
• Meeting production output targets to support the on-time delivery of customer orders
• Ensuring cleanliness and safety standards are always maintained in and around the production area
• Adherence to all health and safety requirements
• Other duties as required by the Line Manager

To be successful for the Part-Time TIG Welder role you should be PC literate and have at least 2 years'' proven experience of intricate TIG welding from previous roles. Experience of Micro Plasma, brazing and working with a range of materials would be advantageous.
