Part time SEN Teaching Assistant

Smile Education are looking for a Part Time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a larger 2 form entry school, The school are looking for someone strong who can work on a 1:1 basis or interventions with a variety of different needs.-

The role would be part time, either 2 full days a week or 5 mornings a week. It would be a long term position with the potential of going permanent with the school-

The Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant

• Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive
• Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
• Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
• Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.

To apply for this SEN teaching assistant role, you will need:

• An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
• A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
• Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
• Experience working with Primary or secondary school children.
• At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
