Part-Time Bookkeeper / Management Accounts

10 hours per week, ideally Wednesday & Friday but can be flexible, working hours 9.30am – 3.00pm, salary £18.00 per hour.

We’re working with an established and successful business that is looking for a reliable, experienced and commercially minded Bookkeeper to join their team. Working closely with the Directors, you’ll take ownership of the day-to-day financial administration and provide valuable insight to support the continued growth of the business.

This is a varied role that would suit someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in getting things right and is confident managing a broad range of bookkeeping responsibilities.

What will you be doing?

You’ll have responsibility for:

• Managing sales and purchase ledgers, invoices and bank transactions
• Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
• Preparing VAT returns
• Producing monthly P&L and balance sheet reports, with the ability to understand and explain key trends
• Managing monthly payroll and the company NEST pension scheme
• Processing Director and employee expenses
• Producing financial forecasts to help support business and investment decisions
• Maintaining compliance and filing the company confirmation statement
• Assisting with personal tax returns

About you

We’re looking for an experienced Bookkeeper who can hit the ground running and work confidently with minimal supervision.

You’ll ideally have:

• 4+ years’ practical bookkeeping experience
• A relevant financial qualification
• Strong experience using Sage 50 Accounts
• Good knowledge of VAT, payroll and accounting practices
• Good Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach
• The ability to manage your own workload and prioritise effectively
• Strong communication skills and a professional, discreet approach to confidential information
