Part-Time Bookkeeper

Part-Time Bookkeeper – Harrogate – circa £21,840 (2 or 3 Days per Week)

Unity Resourcing is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded business based in Harrogate, for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team.

This is a varied and responsible position, working closely with the Managing Director and supporting the wider team. The role is offered on a part-time basis, our client open to 2 or 3 days per week, salary circa £21,840.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and issuing client invoices, monitoring payments and proactively chasing overdue accounts
• Setting up new client records, including engagement letters, billing schedules, payment details and ID checks
• Monitoring bank accounts and petty cash
• Processing supplier payments and expenses
• Maintaining accurate records of payments due, including PAYE and VAT submissions to HMRC
• Managing payroll, liaising with external accountants regarding changes, and processing monthly salary payments
• Administering monthly pension contributions and liaising with the pension provider
• Managing insurance renewals including life assurance, healthcare, cash plans and business insurance policies
• Liaising with accountants regarding annual accounts, tax returns, VAT, asset registers and P11d submissions
• Supporting with FCA reporting, professional membership renewals and CPD confirmations
• Maintaining company policies and procedures, including data protection, holidays, sick pay, maternity and other benefits
• Providing general administrative support to staff and directors, including oversight of office supplies and consumables

Candidate Requirements:

• Previous experience in a similar bookkeeping or finance role (essential)
• Experienced using Sage (beneficial)
• AAT qualified
• Confident managing payroll and liaising with external accountants
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
