Part-Time Accountant and Payroll Officer

Our client based near Yeovil are currently looking for a Part-Time Accountant and Payroll Officer to join their team. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with clients, managing their own workload and getting involved across payroll, bookkeeping, VAT and accounts.You''ll ideally have experience working in an accountancy practice and be AAT qualified or working towards a professional accounting qualification such as AAT, ACCA or CIMA.Key ResponsibilitiesPayrollProcess weekly and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clientsLiaise with clients to obtain payroll information and resolve queriesPrepare and distribute payroll reports and advise clients of PAYE payments dueManage workplace pension processes, including opt-outs and re-enrolment requirementsInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepancies with HMRCBookkeeping and VATMaintain accurate bookkeeping recordsPrepare and submit VAT returnsEnsure client records are complete, accurate and up to dateAccountsPrepare accounts up to Trial Balance for reviewAssist with year-end accounts preparationProvide clients with support and guidance on accounting softwareRequirementsPrevious experience within an accountancy practice is essentialAAT qualified or currently studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMASolid practical knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT and payrollExcellent attention to detail and a naturally accurate approachWell organised, able to prioritise effectively and comfortable working to multiple deadlinesA ..... full job details .....
