Shifts: 5 days (37 hours) or 4 days (30 hours) a week: Happy to consider workers who want to work flexibly too as in 37 hours per week across 4 days or 10 days across 9

About the Role:

Sandwell Children''s Trust is looking for exceptional Parent Assess Practitioners. As part of this we are looking for social work qualified practitioners with at least 4 years post qualifying experiences. Ideal candidates will be trained in the parent assess model and have recent experience of undertaking parenting assessments with parents who have cognitive needs, learning needs and/or a learning disability.

Practitioners will need to have experience of giving evidence confidently in court and be experienced in preparing court ready reports. The role will involve working alongside social work teams within the child protection and court service and will be non-case holding. There will be opportunity for additional parenting assessment work to include risk assessments, together or apart assessment and child impact reports.

The role will sit under the oversight of the service manager who will manage allocations and quality assure assessments undertaken. The role includes the flexibility for hybrid work but requires office attendance 2-3 days per week and a commitment to attend legal and care planning meetings.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assessing families using the Parent Assess model and with the use of Infant Care-Index video feedback.
  * Acting as advisory and support in implementing the Parent Assess Model at Sandwell Children''s Trust.
  * Acting as an Expert Witness to provide evidence based and child-centred decisions.

Who We Are Looking For:

• Education: Degree in Social Work
• Experience: Minimum 3 years in statutory permanent roles required.
