Paralegal/Lawyer - Legal Project

OverviewWe are supporting a very distinct legal project for the next 2+ months in Hemel Hempstead. We are looking for a Paralegal or Lawyer who may be available to support on an urgent project. The client operates in the charitable/housing sector, so experience in disrepair, housing, or landlord/tenancy matters is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Establish a Legal Actions Register by pulling together all current legal actions across the organisation.

Conduct a case management review with instructed solicitors to determine the status of each case and ensure timely action.

Assess and recommend future legal case management arrangements.

Work with solicitors and internal staff to ensure due diligence and establish future management.

Assist with recommending and appointing selected solicitors based on cost considerations.

What to Expect

Majority of cases relate to disrepair and building safety issues.

Hybrid working: typically 2–3 days in the office with flexible/remote options for this project, provided you can access Hemel Hempstead offices when required.

Full-time workload within the project duration (next 2 months minimum).

Compensation: day rate circa £150+ plus holiday accrual (salary equivalent around £40k, to be confirmed and discussed).

Requirements

Experience as a Paralegal, Lawyer, or similar role with exposure to disrepair, housing, landlord/tenant, or building safety matters is highly desirable.

Ability to work flexibly with hours and hybrid working arrangements, ideally close to Hemel Hempstead for initial setup and meetings.
