The Role
As a Panel Wirer, you’ll be responsible for the build, wiring, and assembly of control panels and equipment for automated systems. You’ll interpret wiring diagrams, assemble enclosures, complete cabling, and work closely with electrical and mechanical engineers to deliver high-quality, bespoke builds on time and to spec.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Build and wire control panels from electrical schematics and CAD drawings
- Install cable containment and lay wiring to spec
- Wire sensors, terminals, switches, and automation components
- Complete all build records and test documentation
- Collaborate with other engineers to deliver fit-for-purpose panels
- Maintain a tidy, safe working environment and follow quality processes
What We’re Looking For
- Experience wiring control panels for industrial or automated machinery
- Able to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical drawings
- Proficient with hand and power tools, crimping, and cable routing
- Good standard of education; ideally apprentice-trained (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations are a bonus
- IT-literate and familiar with build documentation
- Team player with a high attention to detail
