Details of this position:
This position is for a full time Painting and Decorating Tutor to work in prison education.
- Deliver engaging and practical Painting & Decorating sessions that inspire and motivate learners.
- Embed employability skills, digital literacy, and reading into vocational teaching.
- Manage tools and equipment safely and securely, ensuring full compliance with health and safety standards.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities, literacy levels, and additional learning needs.
- Promote restorative practices to maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
Work schedule: Full time, 5 days per week
Salary scale: Up to -35,000 per annum

Suitable candidates will need to be enthusiastic, resilient and have a humanistic approach. To be considered, suitable candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in Painting & Decorating with the ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills effectively.
- Relevant vocational qualifications in Painting & Decorating.
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS, AET, CET) or assessor qualification is desirable.
- Willingness to work towards a teaching and/or assessor qualification if not already held.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage tools, materials, and administrative tasks efficiently.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain the appropriate prison clearance before starting the role and maintain this throughout employment.
