Position Overview:

We’re seeking a skilled Painter to join an ongoing temporary project, working within student accommodation properties. This role offers flexibility, competitive hourly rates, and consistent work throughout the week.

Key Details:

• Working Week: Monday to Friday
• Working Hours: 8 am–4 pm or 9 am–5 pm (flexi-time available)
• Hourly Rate: £15.00 – £18.00 per hour
• Duration: Ongoing temporary project (with potential for extension)

• Paint and decorate student rooms, studios, kitchens, and communal areas to a high standard
• Prepare surfaces: cleaning, sanding, filling cracks/holes, masking, and priming
• Apply finishes such as emulsions, gloss, varnish—and potentially wallpaper or other treatments
• Handle touch-ups as needed 
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in work areas; ensure safe use of ladders, and protective gear 
• Minimise disruption in occupied and communal student environments through courteous and professional conduct 
• Collaborate effectively with onsite staff and other trades to meet project goals and deadlines 

• Proven experience in painting and decorating, especially within residential or student accommodation settings 
• Strong attention to detail and tidy workmanship 
• Ability to follow health and safety protocols and safely handle equipment 
• Professional, reliable, friendly, and adaptable approach to working in occupied environments 
• Self-motivated, capable of working independently with minimal supervision 
• Own tools and PPE preferred (or willingness to bring them) 

• NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating, City & Guilds, or relevant apprenticeship 
• Valid CSCS card and/or full UK driving license (especially if work spans multiple sites or requires travel)
