Location: Littlehampton / Rustington area
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Temp to Perm

We’re recruiting for a Paint Shop & Fettling Operative to join a busy manufacturing business based in the Littlehampton / Rustington area.

This role would suit someone with experience in **powder coating, fettling, sanding, prepping, metal finishing, paint shop work, fabrication or general workshop finishing**.

The position will involve supporting different areas of the finishing department, including preparation, sanding, fettling and paint shop support, depending on production requirements. This is a hands-on role, so you must be comfortable with physical work and happy to get stuck in.

The role

You’ll be supporting production by preparing and finishing metal components to a good standard.

Duties will include:

• Fettling, sanding and preparing metalwork
• Supporting paint shop and coating processes
• Cleaning, preparing and finishing parts
• Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely
• Carrying out hands-on, physical work throughout the day
• Working across different areas of the finishing department when required
• Following health and safety procedures
• Working closely with the wider production team to keep jobs moving through the workshop

The workload can vary, so flexibility is important. Some days may be more focused on preparation and sanding, while others may involve supporting paint shop processes.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical and comfortable working in a busy workshop environment.

You’ll ideally have experience in one or more of the following:

• Powder coating
• Fettling
• Sanding or metal finishing
• Paint shop preparation
• Fabrication or sheet metal environments
• Bodyshop, spraying or surface preparation work
• General workshop or manufacturing work

You must also:

• Be reliable and have good attendance
• Be comfortable with manual, physical work
• Be happy working across different areas when needed
• Have a good attitude and be willing to get stuck in
• Have your own safety shoes

Full PPE will be provided by the company.
