Packaging Technician

Job Title: Packaging TechnicianLocation: Newport (NP19)Pay: £15.03 per hour increasing to £17.69 after 12 weeks. FLT Counterbalance Licence is desirable Our client is a global leader in the field of chemistry, providing material solutions that are utilised across a wide range of major industries. They are now recruiting additional Packaging Technicians to join their 24/7 operation. Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)7am to 7pm, 7pm to 7am Key Responsibilities: Operate packaging lines and equipment to deliver high-quality products. Ensure correct labelling, packaging type, and grade compliance. Maintain plant and machinery condition using 5S principles. Follow verbal and written instructions to complete tasks accurately. Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies. Operate a forklift truck (training provided). Conduct detailed shift handovers and maintain an electronic logbook. Collaborate with the shift team to meet objectives. Perform basic fault-finding on breakdowns. Inspect packaged goods for defects before dispatch. Monitor and maintain packaging material inventory levels.
