Packaging Engineer

DescriptionAs a Packaging Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and delivering robust, cost-effective, and sustainable packaging solutions that support safety, quality, and operational efficiency across the supply chain.Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Lead the design, development, and optimisation of packaging solutions for a wide range of products, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets; providing detailed guidance and specifications to suppliers. Collaborate closely with suppliers, logistics providers, and cross-functional teams to define packaging requirements and ensure successful implementation Following procedures in approving all packaging for a specific product line. Drive solutions that minimize the risk of transportation damage Evaluating packaging materials, automation technologies and machinery, and reporting the results regularly. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on damage reduction and safety, using root cause analysis and risk-based decision making Adheres to the packaging development process and assists in executing key packaging phases. Support supplier visits and travel to the Desford facility for occasional training purposes. Required Qualifications: Able to demonstrate significant experience gathered within an industrial packaging/material handling equipment context.
