Package Manager

A leading Tier 1 Principal Contractor is seeking an experienced Specialist Joinery Package Manager to join the project team on a major flagship development in Cardiff.This is a high-profile opportunity to take ownership of a complex, high-value specialist joinery package within a major construction programme, working alongside an established project team and some of the industry''s leading specialist subcontractors and consultants.

The Role

As Specialist Joinery Package Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of the joinery package from procurement and design development through to installation and final completion.You will work closely with the commercial, design, construction and procurement teams to ensure the package is delivered safely, on programme, to the required quality standards and in line with the project''s design intent.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the specialist joinery package on a flagship major development

• Coordinating specialist subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and internal project teams.

• Driving design development, technical approvals and design coordination.

• Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions.

• Monitoring progress against programme and identifying potential risks or delays.

• Managing quality, workmanship and compliance with project requirements.

• Coordinating interfaces with other trades and construction packages.

• Driving the package through snagging, commissioning and final handover.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Package Manager with a strong background in specialist joinery, ideally gained on major commercial, hospitality or other complex construction projects.

You should have:

• Strong experience managing specialist joinery packages.

• A solid understanding of joinery manufacture, installation and site coordination.

• Experience working for or alongside a Tier 1 main contractor.

• Strong technical and commercial awareness.

• Excellent subcontractor and stakeholder management skills.

• A proactive approach to programme, quality and delivery.

A relevant construction qualification or degree would be advantageous, although demonstrable package management experience will be equally important.
