PA Support Assistant

Our Public Sector Client based in Darlington requires a PA Assistant to support within the PA Team. The role is expected to run through to the end of November 2025 and is part time for 25 hours a week.
The hourly rate for this role is -13.05 per hour.
The main purpose of the role is to provide and efficient and comprehensive Administration Support to the PA Services department.
Duties will include:
- Word processing, data input, and general office tasks.
- Be adept at managing a steady flow of requests from various departments, possess strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, and demonstrate excellent word processing skills.
- Undertake a range of P.A. support tasks such as managing your own emails, copying, scanning, archiving, post, answering the telephone and taking messages.
- Responsible for inputting and updating records both manually and electronically on multiple systems, including extracting basic information within set parameters.
- Carry out basic audit and quality control of data input.
- Produce and/or format a variety of documents letters, reports and minutes, as required across the Authority, using audio and various word processing, spreadsheets and presentational software, undertaking with complete discretion and in confidence tasks as directed that may be of a sensitive and confidential nature.
- Deal with enquiries by telephone and face to face and ensure that they are dealt with effectively and efficiently, e.g. answering routine queries, signposting and taking messages where appropriate. Provide telephone cover and assistance for teams as required.
- Carry out routine basic invoicing, creating purchase orders, handling of petty cash and taking payments.
- Input, complete and update both manual and electronic standard format data, checking the correct information is provided and chasing missing data.
- Provide basic facilities management - setting up rooms for meetings ensuring the required equipment and resources are available and assisting attendees.
- Perform diary management functions for Officers in the authority including arranging and rearranging meetings, room booking and organising refreshments
Exceptional communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Experience handling confidential and sensitive information is required.
