Outreach Worker - Roma Rough Sleeping

Do you want to work in a role where you can use your language skills to support an end to rough sleeping? Our belief is that rough sleeping is an intrinsically harmful and dangerous activity both for the individual and for the wider community. Therefore, we take a proactive and assertive approach to supporting people away from this activity. Our aim is to support people to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently. We we are looking for a dynamic, self-driven person with relevant language skills to support the Roma Rough Sleeper Team as an Outreach Worker (known internally as Roma Mediator), working across central London boroughs. In this vital role you will: Undertake Street outreach shifts where you will be involved in making contact with people who are sleeping rough, assessing their needs and delivering personalised case management; to support individuals to make the move away from the streets. Support teams of Street Outreach Workers to deliver accessible services and ensure that contact is made and sustained with Roma people sleeping rough. Ensure the assessments made and the support offered are appropriate and relevant for the client group and that Roma people are supported to engage with the available services.
