      <description>Location: London | Salary: 10000-500000 Annual | Type: Permanent | Role OverviewThe successful candidate will carry out comprehensive eye examinations for a varied patient base, providing accurate diagnosis, appropriate referral, and excellent patient care. This role suits an optometrist looking for a supportive practice environment, whether building a long-term permanent base or seeking flexible locum work. Key Responsibilities  Carry out comprehensive NHS and/or private sight tests, including refraction, ocular health examination, and appropriate use of practice diagnostic equipment (e.g. OCT, fundus photography, visual fields). Assess and manage a range of ocular conditions, referring to Hospital Eye Service (HES) or GP as clinically indicated. Fit and review contact lenses where relevant to the role. Provide clear, accurate patient advice on spectacle and contact lens options, working closely with dispensing colleagues. Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in line with College of Optometrists and practice standards. Ensure compliance with GOC standards of practice, clinical governance, and health and safety requirements.
