Optical Research and Development Engineer (Optoelectronic/Physics or Related Fields)

Duties: Collaborate closely with the parent company''s RandD team in China to understand existing optical products and use this knowledge to develop new designs and systems in the UK. Conduct advanced research on optics and optoelectronics technologies, including experiments and prototyping, to drive innovation. Develop complex algorithms and participate in programming tasks, including optical system control and signal processing. Act as a liaison between the UK and parent company teams, ensuring effective cross-border communication and alignment on technical goals. Evaluate system performance and reliability, preparing detailed technical reports to support UK patent applications for new products. Document technical specifications and system designs, integrating inputs from international teams to ensure accuracy and completeness. Share global expertise with the local team to foster knowledge transfer and team development.Skill, experience and qualification required: Master''s degree or higher in Optics, Optoelectronics, Physics, or related fields. Proficiency in optical design tools such as ZEMAX or other relevant simulation software. Experience with programming languages relevant to optical engineering (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++) preferred. Hands-on experience with optical systems or experimental setups is advantageous. Fluent in both English and Chinese, with excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams.
