Mech Tech Professionals are currently recruiting for experienced Operators for a full-time project based at a 100MW Thermal Power Plant based in Dublin, Ireland.
Our client, a specialist service provider within the Energy sector, requires competent candidates with Wärtsilä experience to start as early as November 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile data infrastructure project, working with a leading team in a fast-paced, technically advanced environment.
Overview:
The assigned Operators will be capable of operating Wärtsilä gas engines on site, in accordance with O&M procedures whilst advising on technical and administrative matters with customers.
This scope of work will include working 12 hr shifts (days &nights), on a 4on x 4off rotation.
For non-local candidates, the client can provide accommodation for 6 weeks upon the start of employment. Accommodation will then need to be sourced directly from this point onwards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular inspections of plant equipment and systems to proactively identify and resolve operational issues.
- Manage planned shutdowns and unplanned breakdowns
- Maintain GT equipment and BOP, performing regular inspections
- Monitor and optimize the overall performance of the power plant, focusing on efficiency, availability, and reliability.
- Operate and control key power plant components including engines, generators, and auxiliary systems.
- Oversee fuel management, ensuring proper supply levels and maintaining fuel quality
- Coordinate with the national grid operator (or internal dispatch team) to manage power output scheduling and ensure smooth integration with the grid.
- Monitor and maintain equipment in line with operational standards
Requirements:
- Candidates must hold experience/knowledge of Wärtsilä products/solutions
- Candidates must hold qualifications/certifications within an Engineering discipline i.e., Mechanical or Electrical certified
- Experience with power plant equipment such as engines, generators, and auxiliary systems
- Hold the ability to address any operational issues
- The ability to work as part of a team and with your own initiative
