Operations Shift Manager

We’re expanding where our customers want us to be.Our Shift Manager will proactively manage the daily operations, with responsibility for delivering safety, cost, quality, compliance, and people KPIs – in line with company, legal, and airline standards. The role involves maintaining an effective and productive team focused on results and developing strong customer relationships.Key Responsibilities of a Shift Manager:Maintain the highest standards in quality, food safety, HACCP, and Health and Safety.Investigate all accidents, incidents, and delays to identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.Ensure work is completed according to daily schedules, costs are within targets, and escalate issues when necessary.Collaborate with Shift Supervisors to manage rosters, work schedules, and team effectiveness fairly and transparently.Manage material and product costs within budget and deadlines.Manage targets and demonstrate their impact on business performance; champion change initiatives and improvements.Ensure customer service standards are met and communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders.Adhere to legislation, company policies, and compliance standards.Provide leadership, coaching, and training to the team; handle employee relations issues per company policy.What do we need from you?Problem-solving skills.Experience in transport or logistics sectors.Stakeholder management abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Experience in people management, including performance, holidays, rosters, and absence management.Experience in fast-paced environments such as manufacturing, logistics, or FMCG.Understanding of cost control and management.Attention to detail and accuracy.Good organizational skills and flexibility.Finally, what''s in it for you?Becoming part of a global family.Free on-site breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Free tea and coffee during shifts.£60 towards dental and optical cover via Simply Health Cash Plan.£150 referral bonus.Discounted gym memberships at over 2000 gyms nationwide.Cycle to Work Scheme.Opportunities for learning through our in-house apprenticeship programme.Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) offering counselling.If your skills and experience match our needs, we encourage you to apply — we’d love to hear from ..... full job details .....
