Our client is seeking an Operations Manager to join their team in Huddersfield, with responsibility for overseeing daily plant operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational efficiency.

In this role, you will lead site operations across production, SHE, maintenance, and support functions-delivering safe, efficient, and compliant processes that meet both business objectives and customer requirements. You''ll play a key role in shaping operations, embedding best practice, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The Role:

  • Lead site operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Deliver operational objectives aligned with departmental strategy, applying LEAN and continuous improvement practices.
  • Manage production, planning, stock control, and resource allocation to meet customer demand efficiently.
  • Oversee site security, facilities, and maintenance, including contractor management and investment projects.
  • Monitor KPIs and performance, implementing corrective actions and reporting progress to the Head of Operations.
  • Develop and lead engaged, high-performing teams, ensuring training and capability building.
  • Promote a positive SHE culture and maintain operational readiness for audits and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage site-level budgets and resource allocation within agreed limits.
  • Support and promote company values and a positive SHE culture.
  • Ensure site operational records are maintained to meet audit and compliance requirements.

The candidate:
  • Proven leadership in operations within a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety, regulatory compliance, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience applying LEAN methodologies and delivering measurable performance improvements.
  • Budget and cost-control capability, including oversight of investment projects.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
