Operations Manager
The Role
You will lead all aspects of bus operations, managing drivers, supervisors, Traffic Office and Allocations teams to ensure safe, reliable, and profitable service delivery.
Key responsibilities include:

Full depot P&L accountability and budget delivery

Leading and developing a large team of drivers and operational staff

Driving fleet utilisation and operational efficiency

Identifying and delivering incremental revenue opportunities
-
Improving punctuality and reducing lost mileage
-
Managing union relationships and workforce engagement
-
Leading on health & safety, compliance, and risk reduction
-
Delivering strong KPIs across service monitoring, licence checks, testing and punctuality
-
Managing customer experience and resolving service issues
We are keen to hear from candidates with:
-
Proven senior operational leadership experience within bus, coach, or transport operations
-
Transport Manager CPC (essential)
-
Strong knowledge of UK Domestic Hours Rules and EU Drivers’ Hours Regulations
-
Experience managing unionised workforces
-
Demonstrable experience delivering KPIs and improving depot performance
-
Commercial awareness with the ability to drive profitability
-
Strong people leadership and communication skills
-
Experience with Trapeze and Ticketer systems is desirable
-
Competence in Microsoft Office.
