Our Financial Services client are seeking a new Operational Risk & Controls Manager as they continue along their 5 year growth strategy.
The organisation are West Midlands based and operate a hybrid policy of 2 days per week in the office.
This is a highly visible role within the organisation and a great opportunity for someone with either limited leadership experience looking to develop or a current leader wanting to build something incredible.
The Role
- Lead and coordinate 1st line risk sampling.
- Develop and maintain the organisations RCSA framework.
- Act as the organisations SME on Operational Risk matters.
- Lead a small team and own the 1st Line Operational Risk & Controls unit.
- Provide regular reporting on key outcomes, trends and risk profiling.
- Identify areas of improvement in the organisations Risk Controls.
- Promote a strong risk culture across the organisation.
Key Skills / Requirements
- Proven experience in an operational risk, controls, incident management type role within financial services at a Senior Analyst and above level with a degree of leadership experience as a minimum e.g. delivering training, mentoring, line management etc.
- Strong understanding of risk control frameworks, RCSA, controls testing and incident management.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Hands-on personality and hungry to develop a slightly immature function.
- Qualifications in risk management or compliance are highly desirable.
