Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for an Ocean Import Operator to join their office in South West London.Job entailsDealing with quotes/bookings/queries on Cross trades businessIssuing Quotations following up quotations made for Containers, Break bulk (Commodity trades, Timber FOT rates) and ROROProcess bookings via telephone and email, from UK customers/Traders and Local Line POL agents. Confirming booking details back to the customer, informing them of special requirements or restrictions, ensuring Credit worthiness.Entering Bill of Lading details and adding where needed manifests details into the company''s bespoke system.Dealing with COD, Switch Bills, Indemnities for cargo release.Telephone sales General enquiries relating to quotes/bookings/scheduling.Dealing with and resolving queries promptlyCredit control Transportation Processing and adding all transport data for container deliveries. Processing PIN and Badge releases in Destin8 Other functionsGeneral client liaison Liaising with the Port and Port offices General departmental clerical work. Any other tasks that management may deem necessary to fulfil the Job role.General expectationGood verbal, written, communication and organisational skills.
