Are you an experienced freight professional ready to take ownership of-Ocean Import or Export shipments end-to-end?-My client is one of the world''s top 25 global freight forwarders is growing its Manchester team..

You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of ocean import or export shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient handling from origin to final delivery. The role will also involve occasional air import operations and close collaboration with customers, overseas offices, agents, and the sales team.

Key Responsibilities for the Ocean Freight Operator:

• Independently manage ocean import or export shipments from start to finish.
• Coordinate bookings with origin offices and agents.
• Control shipments and prepare all relevant documentation.
• Arrange transport insurance and customs clearances.
• Handle accounting and operational administration relating to shipments.
• Provide excellent customer support and build strong client relationships.
• Liaise with UK and overseas offices, partners, and agents.
• Monitor job file reporting, ensuring accuracy and profitability.
• Conduct occasional customer visits alongside the Sales Department.
• Support air import or export operations when required.

Experience of the Ocean Freight Operator:

• A minimum of 2 years'' experience within freight forwarding.
• Experience in ocean freight operations
• Good understanding of customs clearance procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of CargoWise One (desirable but not essential).
• A positive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated approach.
