Ocean Freight OperatorLocation: ExeterSalary: Up to 35,000An established global logistics company is looking for an experienced Ocean Freight Operator to join its growing Exeter team.This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and highly respected freight forwarding business that has operated successfully for many years. The company has a strong global presence, more than 10 locations across the UK and continued plans for growth.The role can focus on ocean imports, exports or a combination of both, depending on your experience.The Role:Manage ocean import and export shipments from booking through to final deliveryHandle FCL and LCL shipmentsLiaise with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers and internal departmentsPrepare and check shipping documentationArrange collections, deliveries and container movementsMonitor shipments and provide customers with regular updatesHandle quotations, costings and supplier ratesSupport customs clearance by ensuring the correct documentation is availableResolve operational problems, delays and documentation discrepanciesEnsure files are accurately costed, invoiced and closedMaintain a high standard of customer service throughout the shipment processThe Candidate:Previous ocean freight forwarding experienceExperience in ocean imports, exports or bothUnderstanding of FCL and LCL processesStrong customer service and communication skillsConfident working with shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agentsOrganised and able to ..... full job details .....
