Job Title: Ocean Export Specialist Operator
Location: M34, Manchester
Salary: -35,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30-17:00pm

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ocean Export Specialist Operator to join a busy and growing freight forwarding team based in the M34 area of Manchester. This is a hands-on operational role managing ocean export shipments from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and compliant end-to-end service for a portfolio of customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage ocean export shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Handle full export documentation including Bills of Lading, customs entries, and shipping instructions
• Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers
• Ensure all export shipments comply with international trade regulations and customs requirements
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve any operational issues or delays
• Provide high levels of customer service and regular shipment updates
• Accurately maintain internal systems and records
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer accounts and suppliers
• Support continuous improvement within export processes and procedures

Requirements

• Previous experience in freight forwarding, specifically ocean exports
• Strong understanding of export documentation and customs procedures
• Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and work under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Proficient in freight systems and Microsoft Office
