Ocean Export Operator

Position: Ocean Export Operator
Location: Chelmsford
Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00 (1-2 days 12:00-8pm)
Salary: Up to -34,000

The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the exportation of Less than Container Loads (LCL) and Full Container Loads (FCL) shipments via sea freight. You must have a background in sea freight operations with a UK forwarder, with experience dealing with US shipments.

Your key responsibilities as Ocean Export Operator:

• Complete start-to-finish export consignments via sea freight
• Responsible for the day to day running of allocated LCL movements
• Exports between UK and USA
• Create bookings from the origin
• Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
• Track and update shipment statuses in the company''s system and provide regular updates to clients
• Complete customs procedures
• Ensure compliance with export regulations
• Developing good working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and our other branches
• Previous experience in quoting and operations of export ocean freight forwarding is essential

Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with a UK-based freight forwarder
• Have the ability to work 12:00-8pm, 1-2 days per week for US time zone scope
