Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant Children s Residential Services (EBD) Location: Bexley, London Residential Home Reports to: Registered Manager / Clinical Lead / Occupational Therapist Hours: Part-time or full-time (flexible; may include some evenings to support routines) Job Purpose The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) supports the delivery of occupational therapy informed interventions for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) living in a residential setting. The role focuses on promoting emotional regulation, sensory integration, daily living skills, independence, and participation in meaningful activities, under the guidance of a qualified Occupational Therapist. Key Responsibilities Support children by following occupational therapy care plans and programmes. Help children develop emotional regulation, coping skills, and sensory processing abilities. Carry out therapeutic activities that support daily routines, transitions, and engagement. Encourage independence in self-care, play, and everyday life skills. Use sensory tools and strategies and help maintain a sensory-friendly home environment. Build positive and trusting relationships with children and support them during emotional distress. Work closely with the Occupational Therapist and other professionals, sharing observations and feedback.
