Role: Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Acute Stroke Unit
Location: Croydon Health Services, South London
Rate: -27.00 per hour
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: Immediate
Role Overview:
Croydon Health Services are urgently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with experience in acute stroke rehabilitation. This role is based within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment, supporting patients on the acute stroke unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and interventions to patients on the acute stroke unit
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans focused on maximising patient function and independence
Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, nurses, speech and language therapists, and other members of the MDT
Contribute to early supported discharge planning and community follow-up arrangements
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records using NHS systems
Supervise junior staff and students where appropriate
Essential Requirements:
HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
Experience working on an Acute Stroke Unit (essential)
Strong understanding of stroke rehabilitation pathways and post-stroke functional recovery
Excellent communication and teamworking skills
Previous NHS experience (desirable)
