Make a difference to people''s lives across Dorset. We are looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist to assess needs, promote independence, and support individuals to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of service users, undertaking holistic assessments of needs, risks and support requirements.
  • Develop, implement and review person-centred care and support plans.
  • Recommend and deliver occupational therapy interventions to promote independence and wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with service users, families, carers and partner agencies.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including statutory documentation.
  • Contribute to safeguarding, risk management and service development activities.
  • Participate in team duties, referrals and multidisciplinary working.

Required skills and qualifications

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy (DipCOT, BSc OT or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Experience working with people with physical disabilities and/or learning disabilities.
  • Strong assessment, communication, record-keeping and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, disability issues, manual handling and health & safety.
  • Ability to travel across Dorset and undertake community-based visits.

Desirable

  • Experience within a Local Authority setting.
  • Experience with housing adaptations and equipment provision.
  • Qualification in moving and handling.
  • Experience working with disabled children.
