Based primarily in Maple Cross, this is a mobile role involving regular travel to customer locations throughout London and the South East, including Buckinghamshire and parts of Kent. Travel flexibility is therefore essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Registered Adult Nurse looking to develop their career within occupational health. Candidates with an NHS background are encouraged to apply, particularly those with experience in Accident and Emergency (A&E). For nurses without A&E experience, relevant training may be provided to support the requirements of the role.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver a range of occupational health services across client sites, supporting employee health, safety and wellbeing.
- Undertake fitness-for-work assessments and safety-critical medicals in line with client requirements.
- Carry out statutory health surveillance and other occupational health assessments as required.
- Conduct drug and alcohol screening in accordance with relevant procedures.
- Provide general health reviews, wellbeing advice and health promotion support to employees.
- Where appropriately trained and competent, provide onsite emergency response and pre-hospital care.
- Undertake accurate clinical assessments and provide treatment within the scope of professional competence.
- Manage clinical administration, including appointment arrangements, medical records, paperwork and pre-placement health questionnaires.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in accordance with professional standards and relevant procedures.
- Ensure all clinical activities are undertaken in line with NMC requirements, company policies and client service agreements.
- Travel to client sites throughout London and the South East as required.
Requirements for the Role
- Registered Adult Nurse (RGN) with an active NMC PIN and no restrictions on practice.
- Previous clinical nursing experience, ideally within the NHS.
- A&E experience is desirable; candidates without this background may be supported through relevant training.
- Previous occupational health experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication and interpersonal skills.
- A flexible approach to working across multiple client sites.
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout London and the South East.
- Good organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to maintain accurate clinical records.
- A working knowledge of Microsoft 365 would be beneficial.
The Opportunity
This role offers the opportunity to join an established occupational health team, delivering varied clinical services in workplace settings. The position would suit a clinically confident nurse who enjoys working with people, is comfortable travelling between sites and is keen to contribute to employee health, safety and wellbeing.
