Astute''s Power team is partnering with a leading power generation company to recruit an O&M Assistant for their Energy from Waste site in Slough.

The O&M Assistant role is a 6-month fixed term contract + Private health insurance & other benefits.

Responsibilities and duties of the O&M Plant Attendant role

Reporting to the O&M Supervisor you will:

• Operate and monitor plant systems safely and efficiently in accordance with operational and environmental standards.
• Support planned and unplanned maintenance activities, including emergency repairs and plant adjustments.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and report equipment defects, hazards, and operational issues.
• Maintain high standards of plant cleanliness and housekeeping at all times.
• Ensure compliance with environmental permits, waste management regulations, and site safety procedures.
• Safely operate vehicles, lifting tools, and equipment as required for plant operations.
• Accurately record operational data, maintenance activities, and inspection findings in site reporting systems.

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Happy to work a 6-month fixed term contract
• Previous experience in a plant operations, waste management, energy, or industrial maintenance environment.
• Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures and compliance requirements.
• Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and performing manual or heavy-lifting tasks.
• Good IT literacy and ability to use computer-based monitoring and reporting systems.

The O&M Plant Attendant role would suit someone who is:

• Level-headed and reliable under pressure, particularly during plant upsets or emergencies.
• Collaborative and proactive, with a positive attitude toward continuous improvement and teamwork.

• Basic salary of up to -36,300 per annum pro rata (6-months)
