£45,000 - £58,000 DOEThe Senior Engineer is fundamentally a hands-on analysis and design-based role within the Civil Structural department, and typically on steel and reinforced concrete structures.They would be expected to be capable to lead on day-to-day developments of the design through the design process, working autonomously and as part of a wider multidisciplinary project team.The Senior Engineer also has a shared managerial responsibility in respect of supporting and developing Graduates, Apprentices and/or Designers in the team.Reporting toPrincipal Engineer.Key Accountabilities for a Senior Structural EngineerPreparation of design documentation throughout the design process,such as: Basis of Design reports, technical specifications, risk assessments, method statements, technical files and other documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.Preparation and review of optioneering studies.Development of designs to satisfy technical specificationsPrepare supporting design calculations to substantiate designPreparation of technical specificationsPreparation of risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and proceduresDuties and Requirements for aSenior Structural EngineerStrong understanding of the fundamentals of structural engineering discipline, including safety legislation and statutory regulations.Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel and a good understanding of design in other construction materials.Experience and ability in the analysis of structural frames and members using proprietary software packages (e.g. STAAD, Autodesk ROBOT).Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position.Ability to work to tight deadlines without compromising on safety and quality.A strong team player, with good organisational and interpersonal skills.Nuclear experience or experience from within a highly regulated industry,A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays overs occasionallyExperience of supervision.Bridge Design experience to Eurocode standards.Occupational Skills and KnowledgeA recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degreewith circa. 10+ years’ work experience in structural design consultancy.Employee Staff Benefits:Hybrid and agile working policies.Private Medical Scheme*.Employee Share Scheme.Salary Sacrifice Schemes: Electrical Vehicles, Technology and Cycle to Work.25 days holiday (increasing to 28 days after 5 years’ service, 31 days after 10 years’ service).Option to buy, sell and carry over up to 5 days annual leave per year.18 Weeks Full Maternity Pay* (+21w SMP).In partnership with trade unions.Personal Development and Further Education Support.Long Service and Recognition Awards.Free Employee Assistance Programme.*After 1 year of service.As asubsidiary of VINCI construction, Nuvia operates across highly regulated sectors including Civil Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally.Nuvia is a performance-driven company that is committed to the development of its people within a culture of safety, innovation, and excellence.Please note that if you are NOT a passport holder of the country for the vacancy you might need a work permit.
