The Role

As Room Leader, you’ll take ownership of your room, leading your team and ensuring children receive the highest standard of care, learning and development.

You will:

  • Lead, motivate and support your room team on a daily basis.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive activities in line with the EYFS.
  • Manage the daily routine, ensuring a calm, safe and well-organised room.
  • Mentor and support junior practitioners and apprentices.
  • Act as Key Person and build strong relationships with children and families.
  • Complete observations, assessments and children''s next steps using Famly.
  • Support 2-year progress checks and transition reports.
  • Identify and support children with additional needs alongside the SENCO.
  • Build positive relationships with parents and communicate children''s progress.
  • Lead or contribute to room meetings and planning sessions.
  • Maintain excellent safeguarding, health and safety standards.
  • Complete daily risk assessments and ensure the learning environment is safe and stimulating.

What We''re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification – full and relevant
  • Experience working with children aged 0–5
  • For the Baby Unit, experience with children aged 0–2 is required
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS Statutory Framework
  • Experience leading, mentoring or supporting other practitioners
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for providing outstanding early years experiences
