Job Vacancy: Nursery Practitioner - Full-Time & Part-Time
Location: Sunderland
Daily Rate: -108 - -120 (depending on hours worked)
About the Role
Empowering Learning is seeking enthusiastic and nurturing Nursery Practitioners to support private day nurseries in Sunderland. We have both full-time and part-time positions available with flexible working options.
You will play a vital role in creating a safe, stimulating, and caring environment where children aged 0-5 years can learn, play, and thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Caring for Children
- Ensure the well-being, health, and safety of all children.
- Support babies, toddlers, and preschool children through daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, nappy changes, and rest periods.
Supporting Learning and Development
- Deliver fun and engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework.
- Encourage exploration, creativity, and learning through play.
- Observe, assess, and record children''s development and progress.
Building Relationships
- Create strong, trusting bonds with children and their families.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers, sharing updates and progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide a consistent and supportive environment.
Maintaining a Safe and Clean Setting
- Ensure the nursery is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and hygiene procedures.
Planning and Record Keeping
- Assist with curriculum planning, observations, and child profiles.
- Contribute ideas during planning meetings and develop new activity ideas.
What We''re Looking For
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.
- A genuine passion for working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and child development.
- A proactive, flexible, and positive attitude.
