Nursery Practitioner – West Bromwich

You will create a safe, welcoming and stimulating nursery environment, helping children learn, explore and develop through play-based activities. You’ll work alongside other Early Years professionals to support children’s individual development, following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

• Support children’s learning and development through engaging activities
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS
• Create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel safe and stimulated
• Encourage communication, confidence and independence in children
• Support personal, social and emotional development
• Monitor and observe progress, contributing to developmental records
• Assist with children’s routines and individual needs
• Foster positive relationships between children
• Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals in the nursery
• Uphold high standards of safeguarding, health, safety and wellbeing
• Communicate effectively with team members and parents/carers

• Recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience working within a nursery or Early Years setting
• Understanding of the EYFS framework
• Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Ability to build positive relationships with young children
• Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to work
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Paediatric First Aid (desirable)
• Enhanced Child DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Ability to provide suitable references covering your last 24 months
