£25,680–£26,000 per year
Full-time, permanent
Are you a Level 3 qualified Early Years Educator looking to join a small, friendly nursery where children, families and staff are at the heart of everything they do?
We are recruiting for a welcoming nursery in Stevenage Old Town that provides care and education for children from 18 months to five years. The nursery has created a warm, family-like environment where children are encouraged to explore, build positive relationships and develop at their own individual pace.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced and supportive team that genuinely values its staff and is committed to their continued training and development.
About the Nursery
The nursery operates from a spacious, dedicated setting with a large, open-plan learning environment where children of different ages can play, learn and interact together.
The indoor space includes small-world play, role play, books, mark-making activities and a quiet area where children can relax or sleep. The nursery also benefits from a large outdoor space that children can freely access throughout most of the day. The garden includes bikes, scooters, ride-on toys and a wide range of equipment for children to choose and explore independently.
The nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage and provides activities based on each child’s interests, needs and stage of development.
The Role
As a Level 3 Early Years Educator, you will provide high-quality care and learning opportunities for children from 18 months to five years. You will support their development through play, exploration, positive interactions and age-appropriate activities.
You will observe children and contribute to their assessments and learning journeys. As a key person, you will build strong relationships with children and their families, helping to ensure they feel secure, included and supported.
You will work closely with the wider nursery team to maintain a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment. You may also support children with additional needs alongside the nursery’s experienced SENCOs.
Safeguarding is central to the position, and you will be expected to follow all nursery policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety and children’s welfare.
What You’ll Receive
The position offers a salary of £25,680–£26,000 per year. You will work seven-hour shifts, plus a one-hour lunch break, between 7:30am and 6:00pm.
You will receive 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 30 days after five years’ service. The nursery also offers a private healthcare scheme, ongoing training and genuine opportunities for career progression.
The nursery is passionate about investing in its staff. Development opportunities may include SENCO and Level 5 Leadership qualifications, alongside training in Paediatric First Aid, safeguarding, Prevent Duty, food safety, allergies and other areas relevant to your role.
Several senior members of the team have progressed internally, demonstrating the nursery’s commitment to supporting and developing its staff.
About You
To be considered, you must hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification and have experience working in an Early Years or nursery setting.
You will need a good understanding of the EYFS and how to support children’s learning, development and wellbeing. You should be confident observing children and contributing to assessments and learning records.
The nursery is looking for someone caring, enthusiastic and dependable who builds positive relationships with children, families and colleagues. You will also need a strong understanding of safeguarding and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality care and education.
If you are a Level 3 qualified Early Years Educator looking for a welcoming nursery that values its staff and offers genuine opportunities for development, we would love to hear from you.
