Nursery Nurse

Reeson Education is currently recruiting for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Nurse to join a welcoming and supportive early years setting in Wigan.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Nursery Nurse who is passionate about early childhood development and wants to play an important role in helping young children build confidence, develop essential skills, and enjoy their first experiences of education.

Working as part of a friendly and experienced early years team, you will support children across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), helping to provide a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where every child can learn and thrive.

The Role

As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting children''s learning, development, and wellbeing throughout the day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality care and support to children within the EYFS setting.
• Creating a warm, safe, and nurturing environment where children feel happy and secure.
• Supporting children''s development through play-based learning and engaging activities.
• Helping children develop their communication, language, physical, social, and emotional skills.
• Supporting children with early literacy and numeracy through age-appropriate activities.
• Working alongside the wider nursery team to plan and deliver stimulating learning experiences.
• Supporting children''s daily routines, including meals, personal care, and transitions.
• Observing children''s development and contributing to accurate records and assessments.
• Building positive relationships with children and helping them develop confidence and independence.
• Communicating effectively with colleagues and parents about children''s progress and wellbeing.
• Supporting an inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to participate and reach their potential.

What We''re Looking For

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early years education and genuinely enjoys working with young children.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification, or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a nursery, preschool, school, or early years environment.
• A good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to build strong and trusting relationships with young children.
• A good understanding of safeguarding and children''s wellbeing.
• The ability to create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
• A reliable and professional approach to working within an early years team.

Desirable Experience

The following experience would be beneficial:

• Supporting children with SEND or additional needs.
• Working with children who have English as an Additional Language (EAL).
• Knowledge of early phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc.
• Experience using outdoor learning and child-led play.
• Experience working with observations, assessments, and EYFS development milestones.
