About the Role
A Nursery Nurse position is available in Selsdon, paying £13.91 per hour on a temporary basis through Pertemps Croydon. This role involves working across various nurseries and children's centres, offering flexibility through daily supply, short-term assignments, long-term placements, and temp-to-perm routes. Suitable for both qualified newcomers and experienced practitioners, the post requires strong safeguarding awareness and a genuine commitment to early years development. Daily duties typically include planning activities, observing children's progress, and maintaining a safe, stimulating environment. Consultants provide ongoing support, and assignments offer valuable exposure to different educational settings. Candidates should hold a relevant childcare qualification and demonstrate sound communication skills.

Job Description
As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing within early years settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting children's learning through play and structured activities
- Promoting children's physical, emotional, and social development
- Maintaining a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
- Supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
- Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
- Observing, monitoring, and recording children's progress
- Adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and setting policies at all times
- Level 3 Qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education
- Valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Good understanding of the EYFS framework
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous experience working within nurseries or children's centres
- Experience supporting children from birth to five years
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child development
- Flexibility and adaptability across different settings
