About the Role

A Nursery Nurse position is available in Sutton, paying £13.91 per hour on a temporary basis. Working through Pertemps Croydon, you will provide care and early years education across various nurseries and children’s centres. Assignments range from flexible daily supply to longer placements, with temp-to-perm routes possible. Your key duties will include planning activities, observing child development, and ensuring welfare standards are met. Applicants should hold a relevant childcare qualification, with experience beneficial but not essential for newly qualified staff. In return, you receive a dedicated consultant, consistent support, and exposure to diverse educational environments. This role suits those seeking adaptable working patterns.

Job Description
As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing within early years settings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting children's learning through play and structured activities
  • Promoting children's physical, emotional, and social development
  • Maintaining a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
  • Supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff
  • Observing, monitoring, and recording children's progress
  • Adhering to safeguarding, health and safety, and setting policies at all times
Person Specification Essential
  • Level 3 Qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education
  • Valid Paediatric First Aid Certificate
  • Good understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable
  • Previous experience working within nurseries or children's centres
  • Experience supporting children from birth to five years
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child development
  • Flexibility and adaptability across different settings
