37 hours / week Mon-Thurs: 08:30 - 17:00. Fri 08:30 - 13:30Job SummaryResponsible for the development and ongoing management of the Quality and Technical Departments at Sheffield Forgings (focussed on Meadowhall and Provincial Park) that includes Design, Metallurgy, Quality Engineering, NDT compliance and Product Certification teams. Also responsible for developing and maintaining a Quality Management System (QMS) for Sheffield Forgings that complies with the Quality Standards stipulated by the company and any statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to the business. To ensure the ideals within Forged Solutions code of Conduct are upheld within the Department and to maintain the continuous improvement philosophy within the department in alignment with the cascade of goals and objectives.Key Objectives of the Role:Implement, develop and maintain the Quality Management System, Operating Procedures and Work Instructions to meet the requirements of the various regulatory, statutory and Customer standards and gain Quality related accreditations.Create and deploy of a departmental Hoshin strategy that will aim to achieve the goals and objectives flowed down from Group and the General Manager. Provide and coordinate key projects to improve the business and achieve the relevant business goals and objectives.Develop the performance of your team (including individual development plans) through the implementation of agreed goals and objectives; execute on the annual Personal Development process.Apply proven problem-solving techniques to identify root cause of product deviations and ensure actions taken to correct are embedded into the business systems.Manage all inputs to the process and maintain compliance for process control. Manage Risk in all the departmental activities using relevant quality tools e.g. DMAIC, RCCA, Statistical analysis etc.Develop process understanding across the business to reduce process variability and improve right first-time processing of parts.Ensure new products are designed and validated to ensure ongoing producibility with a target of zero defects.Provide technical and compliance guidance for Meadowhall and Provincial Park wide capital projects ensuring all validation risks are understood and planned along with understanding the needs and expectations of the customer base.Identify and develop opportunities to achieve, the above, required performance, ensuring issues are addressed appropriately, supported by implementing appropriate KPI’s. Research and prepare reports based on operational activities and set relevant targets.Maintain and develop technical/quality relationships with key customers.The Applicant:Degree educated within a technical fieldExperience of product engineering related to Forge / Heat Treatment/ Inspection and Testing across a range of alloy families is essentialKnowledge of key Customer, Regulatory and Statutory requirements within the Aerospace and other quality-controlled industries is essential.Able to demonstrate the development of management systems to control manufacturing risk at a business systems level is essential.Able to demonstrate application of data driven problem solving to improve producibility of manufactured products is essential.At least 5 years previous experience within Aerospace Manufacturing at a technical level is preferable.Previous operational management experience beneficial.Experience of managing a team is a requirement for this role.Personal Qualities:Able to work under pressure and deliver results to a defined ..... full job details .....
