The role is a mix of room-based and supernumerary time, supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth running of the nursery, leading staff, and maintaining high-quality care and education for all children. We see our Deputy Managers as future Nursery Managers — so there’s a real opportunity for career progression.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Supporting the Nursery Manager in day-to-day operations, including rotas, staffing, and health & safety.
- Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- Leading, motivating, and developing your team.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers, building strong relationships.
- Ensuring an engaging, safe, and stimulating learning environment for children aged 0–5.
- Maintaining accurate records of children’s development and wellbeing.
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or higher.
- Strong leadership experience in early years settings (Deputy Manager experience preferred).
- Confident managing a team and stepping up in the Manager’s absence.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS and Birth to 5 Matters.
- Minimum 2 years’ nursery experience.
