Nursery and Primary Support Assistant

Five Education are looking to recruit an In-Class Support Assistant in Bath. As a Support Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with identified children and young people, encouraging them to learn and challenge themselves. The children have a diagnosis of Special Education Needs (SEN) such as Autism or ADHD and/ or mental health challenges. They will need extra help at school in the lessons and at break and lunchtimes. Experience is not necessary, but a can-do attitude, resilience and initiative are essential. You will need to be available 8am until 6pm. This work is term time only, the school prefers people who can offer 5 days a week but they will consider people who can work a minimum of two days a week. Please note that personal care is essential for this role.Responsibilities and duties: Supporting 1:1 in class or in small groups, sometimes general support around the class Help pupils to remain focused Build a strong relationship with the pupils and teaching staff to ensure that the pupils are achieving their potentialEssential Criteria: Be empathetic, kind and patient Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa) Two recent references, covering the last 2 years Relevant DBS/Police checks, or willing to obtain Is comfortable with personal care e.g. toileting If you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70.
