Nurse / Midwife Practitioner - 27.5 Hours

Are you a Registered Adult Nurse or Midwife who is passionate about reproductive healthcare? We are looking for a Nurse or Midwife Practitioner to join the clinical team on a part-time basis at our Finsbury Park unit - working 27.5 hours per week over four days.Responsibilities
Provide high quality clinical care to our clients across BPAS reproductive healthcare services including termination of pregnancy, STI testing and treatment, contraception, and vasectomy.Be involved in all stages of the client pathway from consultation through to treatment and work in all areas of the unit including theatre and recovery.Provide treatment and clinical information to clients in person and over the phone.Work in accordance with NMC guidelines and the Abortion Act 1967 and Health and Social Care Act, as well as BPAS policies and procedures.Ensure the client understands her options in relation to the pregnancy and, if choosing termination, meets the grounds of the Abortion Act.Provide information on STI testing, undertake tests and provide results, and discuss and confirm the client’s future contraception choices.Check for and implement procedures indicated on client notes, including administering medication for medical abortion procedures or cervical preparation.Carry out post-treatment check-ups, assess the client’s physical condition and address concerns.Complete relevant paperwork and, in the event of post-treatment problems, make arrangements with the clinic or refer to an NHS agency if necessary.Care for and support clients undergoing surgical treatments, which may involve general anaesthetic, conscious sedation or local anaesthetic.Requirements
Registered Adult Nurse Level 1 or Midwife with active NMC registration and PIN.Clinical practice experience of at least 12 months and keen interest in sexual health and reproductive healthcare.Clinical knowledge and experience of safeguarding and Fraser/Gillick competencies.Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills with compassionate and empathetic care.Comfort using IT and Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Microsoft Teams.Strong administrative competence with attention to detail.Gynecological nursing experience or relevant specialty (e.g., sexual health, contraception).Venepuncture / cannulation skills.About BPAS
