NPD Process Technician Job Overview

A specialist manufacturing business is seeking an experienced NPD Process Technician to join its busy Process, Development and Technical departments based in South Wales, commutable from Cardiff, Newport and surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in New Product Development within a food manufacturing or production environment, supporting the development and launch of new and existing products.

NPD Process Technician Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of product concepts, formulations and prototypes, working with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Manage NPD and EPD projects from handover through to launch, ensuring customer requirements and deadlines are met.
• Organise and manage factory trials, providing feedback on new products and processes.
• Work closely with Process, Development, Technical, Operations and Continuous Improvement teams.
• Support customer and retailer submissions.
• Maintain key NPD documentation, including recipes, trial records, shelf-life data and costings.
• Oversee product testing and evaluation, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Manage project critical paths to ensure development projects remain on schedule.
• Support the wider NPD team with the successful delivery of product development projects.

NPD Process Technician Requirements

• Previous experience within a food manufacturing, NPD or product development environment.
• Experience managing or supporting NPD projects through to launch.
• Experience of factory trials and working with production or process teams.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Food Science, Food Technology or a related qualification would be advantageous.

NPD Process Technician Salary & Benefits

• -32,000 - -35,000 per annum, depending on experience
• 33 days holiday including bank holidays
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00 (flexibility required for occasional early starts/late finishes)
