We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and motivated Health Care Assistant (HCA) 25 to 28 Hours per week, to join our supportive and dynamic practice team. In this key role, you will work alongside our GPs and Nurses to deliver high-quality care to our patients across a range of clinical and administrative tasks.Key ResponsibilitiesYour duties will include, but are not limited to:Clinical DutiesConduct new patient health checks and NHS Health ChecksPerform venepuncture and prepare pathology samples for collectionCarry out baseline observations including blood pressure, pulse rate, temperature, pulse oximetry, and blood glucose levelsRecord weight, height, and calculate BMI, entering data accurately into the clinical systemFacilitate both routine and 24-hour blood pressure monitoringUndertake wound care, dressings, and other clinical tasks as requiredAdminister vaccinations under PSD (e.g. flu, B12, shingles, pneumonia)Carry out ECGs as requested by cliniciansPerform ear syringing and compression bandaging as neededSupport INR testing and recordingClinical Environment and Infection ControlEnsure all clinical rooms are well-stocked, clean, and prepared for each sessionMonitor and record fridge temperatures twice daily; dispose of clinical waste appropriately and replace sharps bins in line with IPC policyAbout us

Clinical Duties:Measure and record height, weight, and calculate Body Mass Index (BMI)Monitor and document blood pressure, pulse, and temperaturePerform venepuncture proceduresConduct and record electrocardiograms (ECGs)Carry out urinalysis and interpret resultsMeasure and record peak flow ratesPerform diabetic foot examinationsConduct NHS Health Checks in accordance with current guidelinesProvide smoking cessation support and adviceAdminister flu and pneumococcal vaccinations under a Patient Specific Direction (PSD)Administer vitamin B12 injections under a PSDCarry out ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)Recognise and respond to changes in patients conditions, reporting any concerns to the GP or nurse as appropriateAdministrative and Support Duties:Maintain accurate stock control and order clinical supplies as requiredRecord and monitor fridge temperatures in line with protocolsMaintain awareness and adherence to national infection prevention and control standards, cleanliness guidelines, and all regulatory, contractual, and professional requirementsEnsure patient confidentiality is maintained at all timesManage recall systems for clinics to ensure timely follow-upsContribute to service improvement and suggest areas for developmentProcess and manage patient samples in accordance with safety protocolsFollow safe sharps management procedures, including appropriate training, use, storage, and disposalComply with waste management and spillage control proceduresSee more remote ..... full job details .....
