The Northern Ireland Assembly has completed its Assembly stages of the Inquiry (Mother and Baby Institutions, Magdalene Laundries and Workhouses) and Redress Scheme Bill and it is anticipated that it will become law this summer. A Truth Recovery Redress Service will then be established which will determine applications for payment to those admitted to (and those born to a woman in) a relevant institution or their eligible relatives. As this post is for a non-judicial member, those who are legally qualified or were employed or volunteered in any of the relevant institutions at any time, are ineligible to apply.
